E-series Windows at a glance

Limitless options for customization

With Andersen’s E-Series Windows, the only limit is your imagination! E-Series windows feature a wide array of standard options to choose from, as well as fully customizable colors, sizes, shapes, and materials.

Materials

Aluminum

E-Series extruded aluminum vs roll-form alluminum

The E-Series features heavy-duty extruded aluminum that distinguishes the product line from Andersen’s other window series.

There are several benefits to the use of heavy-duty extruded aluminum. Andersen’s extruded aluminum is very strong–nearly three times thicker than roll form or coiled aluminum used by competitors. By using quality materials and expert finishing processes, E-Series Windows boast superior protection against chalking, dents, scratches, and water infiltration.

Additionally, the extruded aluminum in E-Series windows is expertly joined with wood frames for structural durability. What results is a long-lasting and beautiful frame that provides greater energy efficiency, noise insulation, and thermal expansion and contraction capabilities.

Wood

Andersen E-Series wood species

Andersen offers 11 interior wood species as standard for E-Series Windows, along with 9 interior finish options and 14 interior paints. If you need to match existing woodwork or go beyond standard offerings, Andersen will source custom wood species and match finishes and paints for E-Series Windows.

Whether you choose standard or custom options for interior woodwork, the unique qualities from grain patterns and staining capabilities will make your choice a true original.

Colors

Color offers one of the strongest customizable components of E-Series windows. From exteriors to interiors, primer to finishing, Andersen’s E-Series windows will enhance the appearance of your home while withstanding the tests of time and elements alike. Exteriors are made of baked silicone polyester enamel that stays vibrant for years to come.

E-Series Windows: Energy efficient glass

Andersen is well known for their longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible stewardship.

Choose from multiple options for glass that insulates, filters light, and provides crystal clear views. Whatever you choose, you are making a smart choice for your home as well as our planet.

Low-E4® glass is a great overall choice for Minnesota climates. In addition to energy efficiency applicable both to heating and cooling your home, Low-E4® glass allows for ample light filtering and strong UV Protection. Add HeatLock® Coating for increased capacity to prevent heat from escaping.

SmartSun™ glass provides even stronger thermal control and UV Protection than Low-E4® glass. Andersen compares the thermal protection of SmartSun™ glass to tinted glass, with enhanced capacities if you choose HeatLock® Coating. SmartSun™ glass may be a good option for south-facing windows that receive many hours of direct sunlight.

PassiveSun® glass is another good choice for Minnesota climates. The glass allows the sun’s heat to pass through and keep your home warm and cozy.

Triple-Pane glass with Low-E coatings on two surfaces is Andersen’s most energy efficient option. With an extra pane of glass, Triple-Pane glass prevents costly energy transfers between the heat inside your home and the outside cold.

Clear Dual-Pane glass offers the highest visibility of any E-Series glass options, with basic thermal performance.

Specialty glass can add flair to your window design. According to Andersen Windows, “specialty glass includes tinted glass, spandrel glass and Mapes panels as well as rain, reeded, satin etch and obscure glass options.” Choose from Andersen’s existing collection or customize your own design with “beveled, frosted, grooved, colored, or textured glass” using one of three caming options.
